Bravo CPG Case Study

Category: Food

Engagement Type: Manage & Own Daily Operations

"If you want a diagnosis, hire a consultant. If you want the work done, hire Bravo CPG."

- Jeff Gamsey, President & COO at MOSH

The Brand

MOSH is a brain health nutrition brand co-founded by Maria Shriver and Patrick Schwarzenegger. They sell through DTC, Amazon, and national retail including Target and Sprouts. Jeff Gamsey, who brought Bravo CPG in, is President and COO andowns the P&L, operations, and supply chain.

When Bravo CPG came in, MOSH was at an inflection point. Demand was proven and retail was opening up. However, the ops bench, in Jeff's words, was "built for a brand a third our size." The product was winning in market, but the organization behind it hadn't caught up yet.

The Problem

Series B complexity on a seed-stage ops headcount

The reality

Nothing was “broken” at MOSH. It all worked, just for the wrong reasons.

"We were running Series B complexity on a seed-stage ops headcount. Everything worked, but it worked because a few people were manually holding it together: inventory decisions, production timing, pack configurations, co-manufacturer coordination, channel fulfillment. We needed to build the systems to enable scale."

The effect

The effects of this mainly fell on Jeff. He was losing days a week to PO timing, inventory management, production scheduling, co-man management, vendor documentation, and SKU-level pack decisions.

The cost

The costlier piece was what kept getting pushed out because Jeff was bogged down. The work that actually pays dividends as you grow - new product launch playbooks, process building, automations, etc - kept sliding because everyone was buried in today’s fires. It can be challenging for a COO to do strategic-level work when he’s constantly being pulled into the weeds.

Why Bravo CPG, and not a full-time hire?

MOSH had the three options every brand at this stage weighs: a full-time ops hire, an individual consultant, or an ops agency like Bravo CPG. Jeff's reasoning for Bravo was straight forward:

"Bravo was the only option that was immediately available. And they arrived as a “team”, compared to an individual, ready to hit the ground running. They knew CPG."

Many brands come to Bravo CPG because they find an "individual" contractor who is great for 3-6 months, but then that person leaves - they take a full-time role somewhere else, something happens with their family, and so on - and the brand is left in a pickle.

What Jeff and MOSH valued about Bravo CPG was that we provide our clients with a multi-person team, which allows us to match multiple skillsets to the support needed, helping to create near zero concentration risk for the brand.

We were able to allocate multiple veteran CPG experts to MOSH within weeks.

What Bravo CPG owns for MOSH

The team took a lot of the day-to-day ops work off Jeff's plate immediately and owned it. These were the jobs a few people used to hold together with pure memory and will. Now each one has an owner and process.

The Result

Jeff pointed to three core wins, plus a fourth that operators tend to underrate.

1) Repeatable Processes

MOSH went "from individual heroics to repeatable process." Supplier documentation and vendor management have named owners and a real workflow now, instead of living in someone's inbox. Bravo CPG has allowed MOSH to build infrastructure to scale with.

2) On-Time Launches

The High Protein launch held its date. "That line required coordination across production, packaging, marketing, and multiple retail timelines. A launch that size against our internal headcount would normally slip. With Bravo, it didn't."

3) Hours Back

The hours Jeff got back matter less than where he put them.

"I moved from ops execution to fundraising, strategy, 2026 planning and the path to profitability, AI transformation, and senior hiring. Those are the things only I can do."

4) Things Got Calmer

Things got calmer for Jeff and MOSH. Inventory and pack decisions now reach Jeff as structured scenarios, tradeoffs laid out days ahead, instead of landing as emergencies. The fact that there are “no more 9 pm fire drills…” never shows up in a case study, but ask any of our clients and they'll tell you that working with Bravo provides relief from this exact scenario.
